Privacy Policy
Effective July 17, 2026. This policy describes FileAbroad's current website and service-provider data flows.
Who we are
FileAbroad is a service of Iterative Systems LLC. This policy applies to fileabroad.com, preliminary intake requests, payment communications, and FileAbroad tax-preparation engagements.
Information we collect
- Contact details and preliminary filing facts submitted through the intake.
- Newsletter email addresses submitted separately to the newsletter form.
- Invoice, payment-status, service, and tax-year records handled through Mercury.
- Tax documents and sensitive personal information uploaded through the secure Encyro portal after an engagement is accepted.
- Messages you choose to send through email or WhatsApp.
- Consent-based website events such as page paths, intake starts, WhatsApp clicks, invoice creation, and completed purchases. Tax answers, intake text, message content, names, emails, phone numbers, and document contents are not sent to GA4.
Where documents belong
Do not put Social Security numbers, passport numbers, account numbers, tax returns, or financial statements in the preliminary intake, ordinary email, or WhatsApp. FileAbroad uses Encyro for sensitive tax-document exchange.
How we use information
- Review a request, recommend scope, prepare accepted filings, and communicate.
- Create and reconcile Mercury invoices and send payment confirmations.
- Protect the service, prevent abuse, maintain records, and meet legal duties.
- Measure aggregate website and funnel performance after analytics consent.
- Send occasional newsletters only to people who separately subscribe. FileAbroad does not promise or currently use an automated Kit email sequence.
Service providers
FileAbroad does not sell personal information. It discloses information to service providers only as needed for the stated business purpose, subject to their terms and privacy practices. Current providers include:
- Vercel — website hosting and privacy-oriented site analytics.
- Google Analytics — consent-based website measurement and conversion events.
- Resend — preliminary intake delivery and transactional email.
- Mercury — hosted ACH invoices and payment records.
- Encyro — secure tax-document collection and exchange.
- WhatsApp / Meta — optional messaging when you choose to contact FileAbroad there.
- Kit — newsletter subscription storage and occasional single-send newsletters.
Tax filings may also require disclosure to the IRS, FinCEN, state tax agencies, or another authority that the client authorizes or the law requires.
AI-assisted internal workflows
FileAbroad may use a separately configured, human-reviewed AI assistant for message drafts or consented call summaries. The website does not operate a WhatsApp CRM or AI chat endpoint. AI output is not relied on to set a custom price or make a legal determination. Calls are recorded or transcribed only after an explicit consent choice. Keep SSNs and full account numbers out of WhatsApp and call transcripts.
Analytics and cookies
Google Analytics storage is denied by default and enabled only after the visitor accepts analytics. The preference is stored in the browser. Vercel Analytics may collect privacy-oriented aggregate usage information. Affiliate and newsletter preference cookies may also be used for functional attribution and display choices.
Retention and security
FileAbroad retains records for the engagement, operational, tax-preparer, security, and legal periods that apply to the record. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed perfectly secure. FileAbroad limits document collection to the secure portal and uses access controls appropriate to the service.
Choices and contact
You may decline analytics, unsubscribe from newsletters, decline call recording or AI transcription, or ask about access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Contact info@fileabroad.com. Some tax, payment, security, and legal records cannot be deleted immediately.
