Editorial Standards and Corrections

FileAbroad publishes practical educational material for Americans living abroad. Articles are general information, not individualized tax or legal advice.

Sources and updates

Tax thresholds, deadlines, forms, and compliance procedures should be supported by primary sources such as the IRS, FinCEN, Treasury, and applicable foreign tax authorities. Material changes are reflected in the article and its updated date.

Credentials and scope

Chip Moreno holds an IRS PTIN, and FileAbroad is an authorized IRS e-file provider. Chip has passed Part 1 of the Special Enrollment Examination but is not an Enrolled Agent, CPA, or attorney. PTIN, EFIN authorization, and an exam section are not presented as professional credentials. FileAbroad prepares returns within a written scope and refers legal opinions, representation, willfulness questions, and high-risk international matters when appropriate.

Corrections
